Infections like Botrytis are a major problem in the floriculture industry. It causes substantial losses and is a limiting factor in storage, shipment and vase life of cut flowers and foliage.

Infections with Botrytis appear as tan-coloured spots or flecks and causes significant quality reduction. Flowers are at risk at any stage of the process as the spores of Botrytis, which cannot be detected by the human eye, are everywhere in the ambient air.

ABF Technology

The solution for Botrytis
ABF Technology minimizes waste and financial losses caused by Botrytis, increases product quality and enables (logistic) innovations in the cut flower supply chain.

Substantial savings can be realized by using ABF Technology to disinfect the environment. DNA tests proved that 99% traces of Botrytis has disappeared after treatment. Tests with growers showed a reduction in losses of more than 90% and an increase in revenues of between 7% -15%.

ABF enables long storage and more cost efficient logistics, like a shift from air freight to sea transport.

It ensures consistent quality, leads to a more reliable supply to customers and makes it easier to comply with retailers quality standards.

ABF Technology

How it works
Cold rooms and other places of storage of flowers must be as sterile as possible and should be disinfected without disturbing the production process before flowers and plants are stored. A disinfected environment will prevent bacteria growth on cut flowers.

An ultrasonic ABF humidifier produces a dry fog generated from ABF liquid, a chemically activated biocide formula. The area is quickly filled with this fog that penetrates everything and kills botrytis.

ABF liquid and fog are environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Although harmless to humans, there is no direct contact with the ABF liquid or fog during treatment.

The technology is reliable and requires low maintenance. It will disinfect cold rooms, ventilators, walls and ceiling of cold rooms, storage rooms etc.
